The Most Humbling Of Tasks
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.
- Saturday, 11th of July 2020
Jo and Matthew turned up today to help Ms I to move a bed so that a hospital bed could be brought into her flat to allow her husband to come home from hospital to die. Life can be so tough and Ms I has just lost her Mum, so it was a privilege to help her at least get to see her husband at home before he dies, which is something they both really want. She was worried that we would not be able to do the job but it proved to be remarkably easy as the bed simply came apart when two brackets were moved. A small benefit of moving the bed was that we found Ms I's Mums passport, which she thought she had lost forever. Really humbling and a privilege to be allowed into the home of someone who is struggling so much.
