Okay on with the evening's activities.
We were delighted to welcome GoodGym first timer Ruari along tonight. Great to meet you Ruari thanks to you and all of tonight's hard-working volunteers for your contributions. And what a contribution everyone made; in our continuing mission to boldly make Waltham Forest even better than it already is, we were back at St Mary's Church. Our mission, to clean and tidy the decaying autumnal leaves from outside of the Welcome Centre and to transport some barrowfuls of compost a long distance from the compost heap in the churchyard to a lovely community garden on Prospect Hill.
After filling a pair of enormous sacks with a few 100 kilos of leaves and transporting a similar quantity of compost one may have felt rest was in order. Nothing doing I’m afraid it was straight into a drill set with three times three sets of slow, medium and fast laps to get the heart racing. Some excellent running form on show from all participants and with that it was downhill and back to Mirth to indulge in some delightful cakes supplied by the lovely Clara.
Excellent work everyone, I hope you can make next week’s run to Willow Brook Primary School. More details and sign-up here
