Ten amazing runners joined me for the last run of the year.
Sadly due to a last minute cancellation we were left with the choice of just having our social or heading out for a run. Totally unsurprisingly these wonderful people wanted to get their last bity of fitness in and so we went off for a 6km run with fartlek session too.
After a quick warm up, we headed to Kensal Green (after much discussion we decided it definitely was Kensal Green) and once there I outlined our plan. Fartlek, literally 'fart' - speed and 'lek' - play, keeps you running but alternating speed. The streets in this area gave us some good markers where we switched between fast and slow. The main goal don't stop running till we'd completed our course. All went swimmingly aside from one of Tabitha's bauble flying loose causing a bit of a pile-up!
Everyone pushed it really hard and we were all thoroughly worked out. We took a breather and then headed the mile or so back to base. Top running everyone - we had a quick stretch and then headed in to the Queensbury for our Christmas meal and social.
Thanks to everyone that joined for the run and those who additionally joined for dinner.
Here's to a fantastic 2019 everyone and thanks for a brill 2018!
Cheers, Pritesh
