The highs and (not so) lows of clearing and sorting shelves
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.
- Saturday, 1st of December 2018
Mr F had asked if some runners would be able to come round and give him a hand with some tasks that would keep him a little safer in his home. The main task was to move some books from bottom shelves to other surfaces, so Mr F can reach them, and also to move any obstructions in the walkways, so that Mr F can walk around a bit more safely. Yan, Mat and Pauline quickly set to work and soon found that Mr F had a wide selection of books on a range of subjects...now he could find and access them more easily...he had some amazing artefacts too and kept the Goodgym runners entertained with fascinating facts and interesting anecdotes about his varied careers and experiences. A cupboard full of tools and memories was next on the list and in a short time was ship shape with a place for everything, and everything in its place. Mr F was pleased to have rediscovered old treasures and have easier access to them, too. Before we knew it, time was up. A quick check to make sure walkways were clear and we were off...but not before Mr F expressed an interest in having us back to tackle other tasks in the future.
