The Great British Rake Off
7 GoodGymers made their way to help the St John's Church Hall in Chelmsford.

This evening we had been tasked with cleaning up around St John's Church Hall which had accumulated lots of leaves and branches from the recent bad weather. We have previously been to the church hall to decorate their kitchen last year, clearly we had left a great impression.
Myself, Joel, David (who had already run a very impressive 7.2km), Andy and Adam met up at the university for a short training run to the church hall. Along the way we bumped into Jenny as she was making her own way there and became a group of 6. Rachel had been on her own rather longer training run and met us at the task.
It soon became apparent there was a lot more work to do than had been anticipated so although David was only meant to have joined in for the run it didn't take too much persuasion for him to get stuck in as well.
The task owner Stephen gave us a breakdown of what needed doing and there were some great upper body workouts to be had as Rachel, Jenny and David raked the leaves, Andy broke the branches and Adam and Joel cleared the drains filling two large bags and two wheelie bins.
We will be back at the Church Hall next week to finish what we started. Hopefully the trees wont have shed too many more leaves by then. Great job everyone!!
