The Good, The Bad and The Lidl
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Saturday, 30th of July 2022
It was a hot, dusty Saturday afternoon when I showed up at Ms U's door. I'd been running for 30 minutes already and once I collected her shopping list, there was still a long circuit ahead of me.
I discovered that Mrs U was going to jump on a stagecoach and move out of town very soon, so I was determined to get her the essential supplies to last her until that happens. The list she gave me was very simple and short but there was a bounty put on me in South Ealing, so I hit the trail out to Wild West Ealing to rob some banks there.
First I showed up in Lidl for the gold that Mrs U was after. I got her the most greenish bananas I could find, 4 pints of semi-skimmed milk and carrots. No one dared to get in my way. Unfortunately, the Lidl bank was not stocked well and I didn't find the low-fat cheese. The last pack of black seedless grapes turned out to be full of fermenting fruit and it annoyed me a bit. On the way out I dealt with an automatic cashier, so the Lidl staff got away unharmed.
To make sure Mrs U remained safe and well stocked in her South Ealing hideaway until her journey, I risked entering Sainsbury's. That's where I stumbled across the Sheriff of South Ealing. I don't think they saw me, so I followed them to a place where they were supposed to make a big transaction. Seeing they left a couple of bags full of gold unattended, I seized the moment and grabbed them. The Sheriff noticed me and chased me almost all the way to South Ealing. Feeling I was not going to make it to Mrs U with all the bounty, I had to throw away the gold, so the Sheriff would get distracted and leave me alone.
I arrived at Mrs U's with her supplies, without uncovering her hideout to anyone. I didn't manage to get her a small ingot of low-fat cheese but she was pleased with what I did anyway. Mrs U said she appreciated what I did for her throughout the time we knew each other. She was one of the few who knew that deep inside I am a good person. She wished me all the best in my future endeavours. I wished her good luck on her journey but hoped I will see her once more before she moves out of town.
