The Fountain of Brambles
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hounslow.

Here's what Mrs H of TW3 had to say about the mission:
Mrs H said 'I was impressed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart'.
Lovely Mrs H needed help clearing her garden from brambles and weeds, and generally wanted it to make it look tidier. Her health does not allow her to keep on top of it anymore and finding help isn't always easy so Luís and I were happy to do it for her.
Our main task was to hack away at a bit mound of brambles and plants that were covering up some old stones. The stones used to form a fountain and ponds, so we had to be careful not to step into the old ponds, which despite being covered in grass weeds, were actually mostly mud and water. We also removed some weeds from around a tree, being careful not to tear away the mint that was also sprouting there. She insisted that I take a bit of mint with me and I look forward to growing it at home!
All the while Mrs H chatted away with us and we exchanged stories about our different countries and cultures. She brought us juice and cake at the end and wouldn't take no for an answer. The pandemic and isolation has hit her very hard and she was very happy to have us there for conversation. She was our biggest fan and told us constantly how amazing we were! She really is the nicest lady, and will be asking for more help from GoodGym in the future - I hope to be able to help her regularly but I also encourage anyone who's available to take this up, too.
