9 of us showed up for the 7th birthday of Ealing on 8th august.
There were two birthdays celebrated tonight. One marking the 7th year of GoodGym Ealing and another person who's with GoodGym for 7 years(6 with Ealing) and also sharing their birthday with GoodGym Ealing.
After finishing the group run with Cultivate at their new venue, 10 of us we running/walking towards the Grange in Ealing common which is a few minutes away. Unfortunately Harvey couldn't join us for the party as he had a message from his family and Isak, the new goodgymer, wasn't prepared as it was his first GoodGym task.
Jon, from our neighbour area Hounslow, arrived in style for the party.
Birthday celebration 1
Jenni who was and is a core member of Ealing, though she moved further now, came all the way from Reading to celebrate the Ealing's birthday. We celebrated hers.
Kash handed over the card and a cute cat themed mug to Jenni whereas Steph was the only one posing for the camera.
Birthday Brain Teaser
For this social/party Kash made a journey through the history of GoodGym Ealing and came up with a quiz.
QuizMaster - Kash
Teams - 4
- Road runners - Jenni and Steph
- M&M - Mike and Madhan
- Crossing borders - Sevan and Jon
- Legends of the west - Milly and Divya
As it was the 7th year of GoodGym Ealing, there were 7 questions in each round.
Round 1 - Multiple choice
The questions consisted of stats and some history. For ex Where was the first GoodGym Ealing task took place? - Acton Park - Lammas Park - Elthorne park - Boston manor park
Round 2 - Open questions
Round 2 had answers mostly around persons. It required knowledge of group runs and missions in the last few years. For ex Who did most goodgym missions in 2018?
Round 3 - Organisations we support
We had to find the task owners of the organisations GoodGym Ealing support. From Greenford to Southall to West Ealing, we support lot of organisations. If you read reports then you could make a good guess for most of them. For ex Who is the task owner of William Hobbayne Charity?
And the winner is..
- 🥉 With 10.5 points Road runners took the third place.
- 🥈 With 14.5 points Crossing borders shared the second place with Legends of the west
- 🥇 With just a 0.5 lead M&M won the quiz with 15 points
The winners got a magic bean each
Others got a box of plasters
Time for cake
After eating some chips and carrots which were shared during the quiz, it's time for the main celebration. What's a birthday without a cake.
We borrowed the lighter from a table next to us and Jenni lit the candles
We got a chocolate cake and 4 vegan cup cakes.
While Kash was cutting the cake, Sevan was chogging down a cupcake as he couldn't wait for it.
After munching the cakes, everyone started leaving the pub around 10pm. Sevan took the last piece of cake with him as there were no takers.
