The best one of the besoms
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Tower Hamlets.
- Saturday, 9th of April 2022
Ms P has been out of hospital for a couple of months, and she's still finding her feet as her recovery progresses (no small feat at 89!) With limited mobility, her small garden has become slightly overgrown. She asked GoodGym for some help tidying up her plant pots and sweeping up some leaves.
And so, after a leisurely start to the day with a pizza breakfast and brunch with friends, I jogged over to Ms P's to help tidy up her garden.
Ms P was absolutely lovely, and keen to help out to the best of her abilities. Unfortunately for her, I stole the best besom of her (remarkably extensive) collection, and so she was left with a silicon brush instead (no photo because I was a little forgetful 😅🤦🏼♀️). Regardless, we both cracked on, and we filled up a small bag with some garden waste.
While working, we chatted about Ms P's family, and her upcoming 90th birthday, and she was kind enough to invite me along. Hopefully I'll be able to make it!
After 90 minutes or so of work and chat, I finished cleaning up our work area and we made our goodbyes. I'm hoping to be able to return and help trim back some plants in a couple of week's time :)

Thanks, Paul! I'm in London a couple of days a week now, so it's a bit easier to join in 😊
