The Avengers (dis)Assemble
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Wednesday, 2nd of January 2019
Well we've definitely wandered many a weary foot, since Auld Lang Syne. Particularly with that strange not quite sure what day of the week it is sense of time that goes around this time of year.
Fortunately this meant that on this COLD afternoon in South London, Victoria and I found ourselves available to help out J and I. Who have been enthusiastic residents of Ruskin Park for more than 40 years; and recently celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary. Which would be Gold+2... And going by the Periodic Table, which I believe is how they determine these things: That would make it their Thallium Anniversary! Woah!
J and I did not however request our assistance to come over and talk about precious compound metals; nor indeed to watch Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg spying it up on the original 1960s TV Series The Avengers. No, instead they had a bed to be dismantled and moved outside. Before a replacement hospital bed could be moved in later today.
Following a skilful demonstration of our dismantling, lifting, manoeuvring, sliding, and tilting skills. With minimal fuss and banging into walls, our work was done.
But before we could be on our way, we could hardly resist J's generous offer of sesame biscuits and tea for the road.
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet, for Auld Lang Syne.
