Here's what Mr N of L6 had to say about the mission:
From the referrer: "What a fabulous volunteer, her flexibility and humanity made this job a great success!! She even managed to navigate around Ginger, The Gangster Cat!!! Great work guys, you are such a valuable support resource for our Team and our vulnerable patient’s. Thank you!!!"
I took a scooter ride through Newsham Park to get to Mr N’s it was raining very heavily and I got completely soaked before I even started the task. When I arrived Mr N was surprised I had made it because of the rain. He made me a coffee which was delicious and he called his son to say I’d arrived. Initially I said I would only be able to do weeding because of the rain. Mr N’s son came round and helped me with the task. We pulled out all the weeds and then the sun came out. It was dry enough to get the lawn mower out. Ginger the cat had been sat in his spot under the tree the whole time and he didn’t budge for lawn mowing! ‘Please mow around me’. The lawn mower was really simple to use and did a great job. I went in to unplug it and Mr N was a bit concerned that I hadn’t mowed in straight lines. I went back out and tidied up my work. I understood that it might be quite frustrating for Mr N to have someone doing his gardening as he has loved working on it himself but Mr N’s son reassured me that I had really helped out, it looked good and Mr N was just not able to do it himself. I cleaned the lawnmower before putting it back in the shed and did a bit of tidying. I found a strimmer to do the edges but the battery wasn’t attached and we couldn’t find it. Mr N said that he would find it for if we visit again. I said goodbye to Mr N and his son. I enjoyed a scooter ride home in the improved weather.
