The Allen Key to Success
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Friday, 17th of April 2020
I met up with Richard for some furniture rearranging to help with Ms C's hospital discharge. We were met by the OT, who told us (slightly ominously) of the unusual arrangement of Ms C's flat, over 3 floors with quite narrow stairs and hallways. Entering the flat, it seemed that the sitting room would be the best place to set up a living environment - it was light and spacious, and next to the kitchen. However, the narrow hallways meant that the bed frame wouldn't fit even into the hallway itself without being taken apart. We thought we might have to set up the living space on the bedroom level instead, but as luck would have it, I happened to have an old bike tool in my pannier bag with the right size allen key to take the bed apart. Once taken apart, it was very light and easy to get the parts up the stairs and reassembled in the living room.
Great to meet you Richard and well done on all the missions you're doing!
