That way reclined
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Monday, 1st of June 2020
This morning, two GoodGym runners went to Ms D's to move some furniture, so that her husband is one step closer to coming home from hospital.
It was a quick and straightforward task, moving several items to make space for some new equipment. Something that struck me was Ms D's concern that if she tried out different arrangements, it'd eat into me and CJ's time - we assured her that we were there to make things work for her, and would spend as long as it took to do things respectfully and right.
It sounds like the process of waiting for a loved one to come home from hospital is harder than ever, and I'm glad that as part of GoodGym, we were able to support Ms D with our words and our actions.
Once we'd moved some chairs around, and an old exercise bike, Ms D felt like things were ready for the arrival of the new furniture. After bidding her adieu, we headed off. Mission accomplished!
