Taking out the cash
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 4th of May 2022
This lunchtime I popped across to Ms L's to complete a small shop for her: she's currently unable to carry heavier loads as a result of some health issues.
Aside from loose onions being unavailable and having to substitute a 3 pack, today's shop was pretty uneventful.
The most exciting moment (and this *did" given me a smidgeon of panic) arose when I discovered almost £5 in change in the self service till: For some unknown reason, I was convinced that I needed to be able to distinguish Ms L's change from the discovered change in order to return it to her properly. My panicked brain insisted that the two sets of coins were not allowed to co-mingle (obviously I'm more concerned about the provenance of money than I'd realised 🤷🏼♀️) After taking out the cash, I passed the discovered money onto a store worker, and I assume the store will donate it to charity 👍🏻
Shopping bought, I returned to Ms L's with her shopping and change, and made my way back to work.
