7 GoodGymers made their way to help the The Single Homeless Project in Islington.

Goodgym Islington returned to the Single Homeless Project residence on Ashley Road for the first time in 2021 last night, getting straight to work with updating the centre's garden patches. Half of our team helped with tidying up the plot on site 1 (behind the main reception), while the other crew were taken to another garden space 2 doors down.
Volunteer coordinator Lorena left us clear instructions for the tasks at hand- team 1 set about weeding the soil ready for a new vegetable patch, before planting a plum tree and plenty of new saplings and pots of moss. Team 2 took on some litter picking from the popular social space for the shelter residents, and also planted a tree just by a garden pond.
Within an hour, we achieved a lot between us, and were already seeing results. We will be sure to return soon!
