Seven GoodGym members answered the call from Chiswick House to help lend a hand with the kitchen garden.
This was a short notice request as the team haven’t been able to use volunteers through lockdown 3 and there was a need to dig and spread a couple of piles of woodchip around the beds, to preserve the shrubs through this cold snap we’re having.
Being outside we could keep a safe distance and we quickly worked our way around the edges of the vegetable patches. It was a mulch appreciated mission for many of us, as we have missed being able to help out and the added bonus of seeing other people left us all feeling chipper
James the Kitchen Gardener was grateful for the help, having arrived at 7am in -6 conditions!!
There was just time to squeeze in our two favourite post task traditions a quick group selfie and some delicious cake provided by Star Baker Salwa. Some oh so yum Blueberry Crumb cake 😋
Good to see everyone and hope to get the chance for more tasks very soon
