Sol and Tony joined other members of Friends of Waterways to clear a metre wide strech in the stream to increase the natural water flow.
It had gotten overgrown with plants during summer season that brought lots of rain and warmth.
Some people waded and others worked from the bank with rakes to pull weeds out.
The sun came out and it was felt really warm as we enjoyed working in the stream. We saw geese flying over with that distinct "geese flying" sound that I recognise from childhood. What a memory resurfaced!
We had a break with tea and biscuits! Then we had more energy to clear another stretch of the stream.
We finished the task and walk back to our cars in the sunshine having witnessed autumn colours and sounds in nature's wild patch.
Feeling good!
