Double task this week as next week's task was brought forward, but fortunately both tasks were close together and we could fit them both in.

First we ran around the corner to meet Sanjeev at the Gurdwara, where the prayer room is undergoing a refit and needed a large heavy carpet brought up the tight staircase. The carpet delivery was held up so we had time to celebrate Martin's birthday with a round of cake while we waited. The very large, heavy carpet eventually arrived and a good bit of teamwork, heavy lifting, and a fair bit of getting squashed saw the carpet delivered successfully to the prayer room!

A bit behind schedule we didn't have time to hang around eating cake any more, so we dashed off on the short trip to meet Elizabeth at one of Signpost's homeless hostels where the outside areas were in desperate need of cleaning up.

The staircase to the rear of the property was overgrown with ivy and brambles, and a lot of rubble, dirt and leaves were clogging the stairs which should be a safe fire escape route. We lined up on the stairs and got going on task two, bagging up all the debris and sweeping down the steps. We quickly filled many bin bags as the rain returned, and soon had the steps all clear and safe once again.

Then we were left just a short run back into town in the rain, a hot shower well earned by all the team tonight!
