Sofa so good
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Monday, 30th of March 2020
There couldn't have been a closer GoodGym mission for Anna and Sam with both running over in less than 10 and 5 minutes, respectively. After closing their laptops at 17:30, there was a reason to leave the flat; to help out Mr. P's wife move a sofa from the living room to the front room.
Anna arrived first and Sam soon afterwards, but both arrived promptly to start the task at 18:00. Before Anna could even knock on the door or ring the bell, Mr. P's wife opened the door and welcomed us in. The task was simple enough move one medium to large size sofa about less than 10 metres, but through a narrow doorway. Apparently, the sofa came in through that doorway ten years ago, but Anna and Sam struggled to fit the faded furniture through in various different ways. Ultimately, after a small breather and strength, the 'more heavy than it looks' sofa finally nudged through at a 45 degree angle. We placed the sofa in position, but Mr. P's wife made the final adjustments. We chatted to her about ourselves, herself and Mr. P's arrival back from hospital on Wednesday. 😊
Finally, had to have a social distancing selfie to seal the end of the mission in proper style! Until next time Anna, stay safe! 👍
