Soaked Saving Pennies
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Wednesday, 10th of June 2020
I have done a few missions for Mr A now and always look forward to going to speak with him. He is a wonderful warm friendly man and we could chat forever. After a slight overspend last week, we had a phonecall to discuss how to stick to the £20 limit. After I suggested it would actually make a big difference to try Morrisons rather than Waitrose or M&S he agreed to give it a go (apart from a few specific items). So I was off to Archway M&S for Kalamata Olives and rye bread before running down Holloway Road to Morrisons where I managed to do the entire shop which had been nearly £30 last week for less than £20! Then a quick walk to his flat and I was able to share with him information I'd printed for him about getting internet installed in his house - turns out it's very hard to get internet if you don't already have internet! Unfortunately he got a call not long into our chat so we were cut a bit short, but as always it was an absolute pleasure even if I did get soaked on the way back. Forgot to take a picture so here is a cat, laughing at me getting soaked, in the window of one of my neighbours.
