Small Park, Big Run, Steep Hill.
3 GoodGymers made their way in a race in Sheffield.
- Saturday, 10th of June 2017
- Led by Tom Mutton
Three GoodGym types took part in the inaugural Small Park, Big Run event in Sheffield. The idea behind it was to do as many laps as possible of Meersbrook Park within a 24 hour period, in order to raise for money for kids' play areas in Palestine.
If the event goes on next year, we could field a large team and have a relay covering every hour. As it was, we did our best. Annie May did a shift early on the Sunday, I did a two and a half hour stint (about 25 1k laps, which equated to about 3000 feet of ascent) - and Tom Mutton took part for a shift too. Repeating the hill over and over again provided a challenge, but it afforded spectacular views over Sheffield, and the rest of the circuit afforded a bit of recovery time - so it was bearable. One chap turned up in the middle of the night and ran a marathon distance - upwards of 50 laps.
