Skip shape and GoodGym fashion
6 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Saturday, 1st of September 2018
Mr E needed his garden cleared and some sheds smashing up pronto as he is moving house next week. He ordered in an 8 tonne skip and 6 GoodGymmers to load it up.
James was especially excited for shed smashing and even brought his own axe along for the occasion! We all wore sensible gloves for lugging pieces of shed and smashed up wood from the garden to the skip. There was a huge amount to be moved from the precarious piles to the front but everyone worked like troopers and pretty soon the skip was full. After a smash and rejig we were able to load a bit more in but it wasn't going to be sufficient. Katy and Suze also sorted out big bags of garden waste to be disposed of sperately.
After clearing away the initial pile of wood/debry/ shed we were able to deconstruct the old avery, due to the dust and bird mess we were supplied some rather fetching face masks which made for some funny photos.
Ultimately we realised there was not enough skip space or man power to finish the task. Sarah stepped up to help organise for Mr E to get another mission sorted so anyone available on September 8th would be greatly appreciated!
