What a beautiful day for a litterpick with Southsea Beachwatch this morning! And a very warm welcome to Lisa who came along for her first task with Goodgym today. Joined by Dave, Harry, Jen, Mel and Sinéad and the other volunteers from Southsea Beachwatch. We walked East along the beach to start with, and then back West towards the starting point. There was very little litter to pick up - great news for keeping rubbish and plastics out of the sea, but a little disappointing that we couldn't completely fill up our bags Nothing particularly unusual found by us, but Lisa did pick up a hair clip, and Mel found what we initially thought was a loofah, but on closer scrutiny turned out to be a very dry mini sweetcorn husk! There were some interesting items on show from previous litterpicks plus some lost property found amongst the bushes - a rucksack and buoyancy aid which has been left at The Coffee Cup. Having checked Southsea Beachwatch's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SouthseaBeachwatch, there was a combined weight litterpicked of 45kgs, so a pretty good haul!
