Short back & sides
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hounslow.
- Sunday, 3rd of September 2023
A beautiful sunny afternoon in Hounslow saw Beth and JP meet at Mr J’s house to help him with some work in his garden.
We went through the house and stepped out into a beautiful haven of a back garden, secluded by tall firs and with beds bursting with bright flowers. But the lawn was in need of a good mow and this was why we were called in to help.
We got the mower and edging shears from the shed and got to work. JP mowed the lawn, taking care over some newly planted sections and around the edges of the flower beds. Meanwhile Beth trimmed the edges with the shears, and we dumped the cuttings in the compost heap.
While we worked we complimented Mr J on his garden design and upkeep - it was clear he had green fingers. We were also visited repeatedly by a robin, keen to keep an eye on our progress.
Soon enough the garden was looking idyllic again with the lawn having had a fresh trim. We then had a couple more jobs to do, lopping some overgrown branches from the firs and an overhanging bush and then tightening up a screw to fix a wonky garden chair.
Mr J was very happy with our work and we left him to enjoy the rest of the glorious weather.
