Shona's special vanishing bush
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Sheffield City Council in Sheffield.

The recent rains had sent the forest completely wild and everything was hugely overgrown, flowering and fruiting..... everything apart from the Worcester bush Shona and Tall Tom had planted. That was just a pile of mud so we suspect that someone has dug it up and hopefully replanted it in their own garden, there is a help yourself eat what you want ethos but pinching the bushes takes it a step top far.
Today we had a new James join us who has recently moved to Sheffield, he has been doing GG York with the legendary Egg so we need to show him how super Sheffield is too.
We sorted out the Chinese Bramble which had quite a bit of blackberry brambles, stinging nettles and bind weed mixed up in with it. The plant is on the verge of fruiting (I may have eaten the only berry) so the September Parkwood Springs crew should certainly come with Tupperwares. The mulberries are also going to be fit for picking over the next couple of weeks and the strawberries and blueberries are divine. Basically the fruits of our labour can be harvested very soon.
After all our weeding the two Jameses, Shona and I had a picnic with the rest of the volunteers. We had 3 different loaves this time with both hummus and tapinade and I even baked some cookies.
