Shelve this for another day
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Tuesday, 25th of May 2021
Mr and Mrs W and their daughter all moved into a new home together just before Christmas. They have been living with the contents of 2 houses piled high in boxes for 6 months. With various health problems, injuries and disabilities between them, they struggled to make a dent on sorting through. Even just getting at most of the boxes is a challenge, they are packed in so tight!
The task today was to move some bookcases from Mrs W's bedroom to the front bedroom to unpack boxes onto, but before we could do that, we had to remove boxes from the front bedroom to make space for the shelves! Their daughter likened it to one of those puzzles where you slide the pieces around one at a time...
Between us we managed to move and fill 3 bookcases, despite the best efforts of Molly the dog to get in the way. We then had to restack boxes wherever we could so they could get back in their bedrooms and bathrooms. Now there's enough space to sort through everything on the shelves and get rid of what's no longer needed. Perhaps GG can return once they have done so to help unpack/shift some more boxes.
