Shear in the new year
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Newham.
- Sunday, 6th of January 2019
Valiant and humble Goodgym Newham heroes g-man and Hil-bob tore down the greenway like two red bats out of hell today. Arriving in Beckton, they knew what would face them, a garden, bit overgrown, in need of a tidy up... Goodgym style. Our duo were born ready for this and couldn’t wait to get stuck in... but in the end they arrived a wee bit early so had a little walk around the block til 11 o’clock rolled around...
After those few minutes had passed it was game on, and the overgrown bits of that garden never stood a chance. G-man cleared a bit of surface detritus while Hil-bob decimated the weeds. Soon it was time to roll out... the strimmer.
Hil-bob got her hands on it first and chopped the near half of the lawn down to size, while g-man grabbed the shears and attacked the ivy encroaching from next door. Then g-man had a go at the strimming, while Hil-bob raked the leaves up. The strimmer power cable was a bit short so an extension cable had to be sought out, but then, the long grass had no where to hide. After a tidy up Mrs A kindly offered our duo a cuppa (g-man doesn’t do hot drinks so ended up with a Fanta) and had a little chit chat, then pointed out there was a hedge at the front which could do with a bit of shearing so before heading off our team gave it a short back and sides.
Salute to Mrs A and the pair were off, back up the greenway... mission accomplished.<\p>
