Sew, show, stow your coats; gently mind the seams
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Monday, 11th of November 2019
Rebecca and I met Ms E at her flat this afternoon for a warm task on a chilly day.
Ms E's winter coats were at the back of her cupboard and she needed some help retrieving them for the cold weather, storing them nearer the front for easy access.
Being vertically challenged, I took the easier job of sorting through the coats with Ms E. Rebecca put her height to good use by digging around the cupboard and retrieving and re-hanging the coats.
Ms E had an incredible collection, many of them homemade. She used to work at Harrods and sewed for a living! We spent a lot of time admiring her handiwork and being careful how we handled and stored the coats.
It was a super quick mission so we had time for a good chat afterwards, finding out all about Ms E's family and adventures. A most pleasant way to spend an hour.
