There were rumours of something to celebrate at Penrhyn parkrun on Saturday; the eyes of the world were on Gwyn as he welcomed the runners. Those who were fleet would have to pay strict attention to the course details; the rest were told they would be fine as long as you follow those ahead of you and don’t stop! There were marshals everywhere there was a change of direction, so no opportunity to go your own way, and the chain marked the parting of the ways between the cylch mawr & cylch bach.
Afterwards, with a cup of Earl Gray came the results processing… The software wouldn’t stop messin’ round telling sweet little lies that there were two people both in the 85th position, so Tracey had the idea to juggle the rows about and make a temporary one to help sort it. Thankfully, the pious bird of good omen was on our side, and the results were sorted in the nicks of time (isn’t it midnight when they’re due out?).
As for the celebrations – if you’ve already heard, then this will be second hand news, but it was Gwyn’s 150th day of volunteering for parkrun. Well done, Gwyn, you make running fun!
