This was such a great GoodGym session! Sol, Sheila, Jen, Jess and I helped Cookham Arts Club set up for their annual Summer exhibition.
We had a great mix of tasks:
Shifting display screens out from a very cosy space under the stage..."Mind your head Jess! We're clear!"
Synchonised slotting of hooks into holes to hang each screen from posts around the room..."In top, in bottom, in and in on our side! And ours!"
Team challenge to stick numbers on the 37 screens in record timing. This looked like a one person job, but we divided into blue tack stickers, number runners, and long-armed number stickers, all directed by clipboard lady Jen - go team!
Shifting paintings from the stage to their designated screens
Carefully hanging paintings in their designated spots using special hooks
Jiggling (technical term) hung paintings around to get them all evenly spaced...it's a fine art!
Setting up chairs and tables for lunch
More shifting of chairs and tables
We also had the pleasure of being the first people to see the paintings hung and window shopping for our favourites. There was a great mix of different styles, media and subject matter on display - very inspiring!
As if that wasn't enough, we were also treated to a home made buffet lunch, including second helpings of some very scrummy puddings. Thank you CAC! You've got us hooked!
