Round and round the mulberry bush
5 GoodGymers made their way to help the Alexandra Road Community Garden in Sheffield.
- Sunday, 4th of August 2019
- Led by Andrew Waters
5 Sheffield GG stalwarts hit the Sheffield hills early on a Sunday morning to help out at the monthly Alexandra Road Community Garden meet. It was good to see a fair few local residents, who had come to last month's anniversary party, joining in to help - and with some of their children playing and searching for frogs while we worked, it had a lovely community vibe. This month's tasks included removing a mass of bind weed from a very high wall - well done to CHRIS for tackling it from the top of a step ladder - and weeding & pruning - capably completed by BEE, DAIANA & CELINE - who also gave us a masterclass in what was or wasn't edible in the garden, including mulberries from the mulberry bush - washed down with tea, biscuits and fruit provided by Jane and Naomi. Next month's task is on Sunday 1st September - sign up on the GG website if you'd like to join us.
