Rooting around in local history
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Crystal Palace Museum in Bromley.
- Sunday, 18th of September 2022
- Led by Bromley runner
It was a beautiful sunny day on Sunday for our mission at Crystal Palace Museum.
The museum is clearing out the old Water Tower (which has been there for approx 150 years and fed the water system attached to the water fountains at the Crystal Palace). The hope is that the museum will make this space available for visitors.
Return visitors, Nick, Mark and I, and new to this task Cat, met at the museum at 10am. On Sunday we continued clearing the space. Specifically, we were digging the soil up and pulling roots out to find the foundations of the Water Tower.
Cat and I focused on the entrance area, and Nick and Mark helped other volunteers in the main area of the water tower.
Looking forward to returning to see this piece of history be restored!
