Today's Sunday afternoon in Mr R's garden has proven that an anti-weed membrane covered with gravel doesn't cut it as a defence against thistle, herb robert, dandelions and other undesirable plants.

While Kash found a fork in the shed to uproot the pesky thorny thistles, Sevan found his transient zen place in pulling the small, stubborn weeds until he got frustrated with the slow progress.

Two GoodGymers collected eight bags of green waste of varying levels of prickliness. Surprisingly, when they compared the before and after photos from the task, it didn't look like eight bags of weeds were missing from the garden!

Mr R's neighbour brought Sevan and Kash cold drinks, and the grateful GoodGymers decided not to ask tricky questions like: what is the mysterious compost bin for? There were no flowerbeds and no soil in the garden. Was it a fox banquet? Was it a place for people asking too many questions, like in the GoodGymers' earlier task? We may never find out.
