1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Thursday, 27th of August 2020
Having shopped for Mr A a few weeks back, I was largely familiar with his list and what could be the challenging items to find in his local Sainsburys. Mr A always requests a £1.99 pack of prawns ("not frozen, too expensive") and having failed to net these last time I was determined not to let him down this week.
Sainsburys had various packs of prawns on their shelves, but nothing at the specified price, so I dug out my phone to find out if Sainsburys still sold £1.99 packs of prawns, or whether there had been rampant prawn inflation since Mr A last ventured out. It transpired this might be the case, with the cheapest pack available now at £2.75. With this in mind, I went ahead and put these in the basket and found everything else that he wanted.
Back at Mr A's I explained the prawn pricing dilemma to him and the decision to include the more expensive pack in the bag - he agreed that this was "still good value" and was pleased they'd be on his list of ingredients - I then left him to unpack his shopping in the kitchen and plan his menu for the week ahead.
