Real lady marmalade
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 22nd of April 2020
Today I cycled and ran to help Ms O with some shopping she needed done. This shopping included food and some other essentials to help her live healthily and happily.
I was excited - as well as specific items like marmalade, beef and bread (not all for one sandwich - I think), she was keen on some fizzy drinks and sweets and was happy for me to do the choosing on the latter. Anybody who has chatted to me, or shown up early at a Southwark group run, will know that sweets are my strong point.
I was chuffed that there were only a couple of people in the queue, and managed to track down most the bits she needed, with a couple of substitutes. On running back with it, Ms O was very polite but informed me that one of the items simply wouldn't do. After running back to the shop and queuing 20 minutes to get those items refunded, I then got the exciting workout of cycling store to store until I managed to get the right ones.
All a bit more complicated than I initially thought, but Ms O was chuffed to get the correct ones, and left with enough shopping to tide her over the next week or two!
