Raking it in on the side
8 GoodGymers made their way to help the Northern Slopes Initiative in Bristol.

This week, 8 Goodgymers returned to the scene of last week's bramble massacre, where our efforts we rewarded with a stunning new view of Bristol in the sunshine.
The Northern Slopes Initiative's plan to turn the area into a beautiful nature reserve extended to the lower half of Nover's Steps. We split into two groups and jumped into action while the sun got to work on chasing away the fog.
At the top of the steps, Jason and Russ (scythe enthusiast) did a fantastic job raking and scything away at the bramble remains. If Russ is the harbinger of weed slaying then Nathalie is the harbinger of litter picking, as she made a massive impact on the top side pathway.
Meanwhile Dave was competing with the child labou... I mean Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, at bramble slashing. Between them they carved a huge chunk out of the top side brambles.
Down at the bottom, Sarah managed to snag a whole sack of litter, making the place a lot more cheery. Matt and Liz lopped away brambles on the lower paths, clearing the way people to explore the slopes safely. The hard work put in by everyone is starting to show as pedestrians cheered us on from the side-lines!
As with all fun tasks it was over way too soon, but there's plenty more weeds to be destroyed, keep an eye out for next weeks listing!
