WOW! What a GoodGym! That was ker-azy!
This week GGSheff played host to a group of 20 students from Sheffield Hallam's Hong Kong exchange programme which meant things got a little hectic, however, as normal this team handled it like the bosses they are. We also had two new members: Yvonne Rinkart recruited by Bee and Abbie Martin who's a friend of Celine.
At lights, we squat!
Since several of the crew ran Round Sheffield Run and Endure 24 this week, we had an easy run from the Showroom to Lynwood Gardens where we met with Simon (not Paul). It took us a moment to get organised but soon everyone had a job and we got to work.
Simon says, clear the path
This week, our job was to clear a small section of SUSTRANS cycle path which diverts cyclist off the main road and through a safer and quieter part of the city. We wanted to make it even safer by cutting back nettles, branches and widening the path where it had become clogged with fallen leaves and other detritus . There were two team of choppers, a team of clearers and another team taking the cutting round to the compost heap.
After what felt like no time at all, it was time to clear up and get back to the Showroom. Getting everyone back was a mammoth task and a real team effort with too many people to thank for leading walking groups and activity groups.
All back safe and sound, we stretched off and debriefed. Thanks team!
