Push Pineapple, Beans for Tea...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 24th of June 2020
Was good to catch up with Mrs M again and we had a long chat about how the past couple of weeks had been for her and her husband - although when she then wheeled out the estate car sized trolley (which I hadn't seen for a few weeks), I did wonder what she had in store on her list this week.
Like several others, Mrs M knows exactly what can be found on the shelves of her local Tesco, and I was fortunately able to pick up everything she needed pretty quickly - this included a fresh pineapple, which I'll confess was the first time I'd ever bought one (who knew they only cost 49p...how can that be...how does this food miles thing really work?).
The cashier was concerned that people were already thinking lockdown had ended judging by her tone of voice and command of her checkout territory, so I obligingly stood behind all the markers, masked up, trying to look innocent until beckoned forward. I was pleasantly surprised that Mrs M's total came to £19.93, although with a few bulky items I think the lower profile coupe sized trolley that she's previously lent me to drive would have struggled back up the hill this week...
