Pumping Iron
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Derby.
- Sunday, 18th of September 2022
- Led by Gwyn Williams
Tracey and I volunteered to help Elvaston Castle and Gardens Trust to encourage new volunteers and chat about our work with the Trust. We met another volunteer, our volunteer co-ordinator, a trustee and the business manager at the stall. After a look around the festival and some good food and drink, we started our work, in the process chatting with visitors to the festival. We also helped with the children's colouring competition: colouring in a drawing of the castle itself. In helping to clear up, we carried some sculptures made of iron to the office: an interesting process because they were taller than we were, and the walk was through the crowds.
