Pruning in the park
16 GoodGymers made their way 4.2km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.
- Monday, 29th of May 2017
- Led by Alex Eggs
In the absence of Alex Eggs the usual trainer who was up in Edinburgh bossing the marathon (Nice one Alex) 16 of us still ventured our to Victoria Park to help out the park wardens.
Fresh from a relaxing bank holiday we all had a spring in our step so managed the 2k run to the task with ease. We were given tools, gloves, explanations of what to do and shown to a long line of trees with unsightly bushy bases.
After 40 minutes of hard work we have freed the tree bases from the excess growth, cleared up some litter and even found a frog.
To break up the 2k run home we stopped in the park for a session of increasingly difficult sprints.
Thanks to everybody who came
