After the overcrowding in our local parks brought by the good weather and the deluge of photos showing the awful litter left on Wednesday (7 tonnes at Endcliffe Park alone), we feared the situation would be just as bad Thursday morning and set out to help clean up.
A coordinated very early morning effort from council and volunteers meant Endcliffe was virtually clear by 9am, so George went to her local rec and cleared a bag. Michelle filled 2 black bags from her local Mount Pleasant park before work. Celine and I joined clean up crew at Crookes Valley Park, filling 7 black bags between us, even employing some advanced litter picking techniques to fish what we could out of the lake.
