Community mission

Perfect day for potting and pottering

1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Tree musketeers in Hackney.

On a sunny Saturday I joined the gang of regular volunteers at the Hackney Marshes tree nursery for their monthly open activities.

I mucked in with local community members, young and old, to build new pots, mix 50/50 soil and fertiliser, pot-up more than 40 trees and give everything in the nursery a good drink of water.

It was a great day helping out, learning new skills and knowledge about trees, catching a tan and of course getting to know some great new people from the neighbourhood!
