Saturday 30th March 2019
We met outside Hayman Lodge in Catton Park , as usual - Goodgym runners and volunteers on this glorious sunny day for a parkrun! 🌞
Five Norwich Goodgymers were Marshalling/ volunteering for Catton Parkrun as a community mission; Elizabeth, Catherine, Rebecca, Rob and Mel. We heard our briefing then all went off to our volunteer positions around the park. Tasks today included cheering on runners, guiding them in the right direction and managing the finish funnel to ensure a smooth run was had by all.
A massive 507 people turned out at Catton Parkrun today with a great amount of Norwich Goodgym running appearances too! 🌲🌳♥️ The pacers were at the parkrun, provided by Norwich Road Runners, which probably assisted with the good turnout. Runners who wanted to aim for a personal best could chase their relevant time pacer 🏃🏽♀️
It was also 'Pyjama Parkrun' today at Catton, with the chance to win a mattress to sleep off your amazing running efforts! 🛌 Not sure who won that, but keep an eye out on the Catton Parkrun website
Also spotted around parkrun today was a group of runners 'on tour' dressed as minions!
Spending the morning amongst nature in this beautiful park seemed very apt on this WWF Earth Hour day 🌏
After our parkrun mission had ended, some of us then went on to another Goodgym community mission in the park in aid of Earth Hour day See here
