One of my heroes once said: "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get".
Well since they started putting menus on and in chocolate boxes, I'd suggest life is more like a litter-pick; you have a pretty good idea what you'll get, it's just the location, types, and quantity of rubbish that may surprise you!
This morning in Mountsfield Park was true to form - as the ParkRunners dispersed and the sun shone brightly, sweet wrappers, crisp packets, vapes, and bottles of various types were on the menu to differing degrees.
Whilst most benches were accompanied by paper and plastic waste, the always-popular secluded seat (in the SE corner) never disappoints with its combo of beer & wine bottles, plus energy drink cans.
Marking the last stop after a couple of loops, this was enough to fill one black bag and to make park life just that little bit nicer.
Much like a box of chocolates would. Hmmm... chocolate!!!
