Amazing to be back for our first group run after so long!
A group of us met at Kew Bridge and embarked on a somewhat sticky run to Turnham Green where we met Jan, who has been directing us over the years in the creation and upkeep of a wild meadow. We've fought epic battles against the thistles (we're definitely wining), sowed seeds (to various levels of success) and watched the flowers bloom.
Today's jobs was pulling up mugwort - we are such pros now, we know words like 'mugwort' - more thistles, and strimming a path through the meadow to allow access. It was with some slightly worrying degree of glee that Matt brandished the power strimmer, but he did such a good job that Jan allowed him to name the newly created path. Henceforth, it shall be known as The Mash Way.
To finish off the job, Chris and Chris did an amazing job with the boundary to the meadow, and had a lovely break in the sunshine watching the meeting of the local Westie society.
Great job everybody! Next week we're off for various jobs at a local primary school, you can sign up here.
