Nursing trees with a saw & skip
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Tree musketeers in Hackney.
- Saturday, 27th of October 2018

Where you would expect a nursery to be loving & caring, sometimes the 'doctor' needs to be harsh and cut out the dead wood... Today was one of those days, where the nursery got a bit of a clear-out & tidy-up, including removing a deceased tree. Getting stuck in to keep warm in the chilly morning, the core Tree Musketeers team set to work, ably assisted by two energetic Goodgymmers (T sent her apologies) and more of the regulars as they came in.
Bags full of old soil & old little trees found their way into the skip
quarantine corner got a clean-up
woodchip got spread & sorted
pots & bags cleaned out
Lots got done in the never ending process of looking after the nursery!
Catching up with the team about future sessions, this was likely the last Saturday nursery session, next month they will probably be out promoting their calendar. However there will be some tree planting sessions on the first weekend of December, so watch this space!
Last but not least - last GoodGym social of the year will be on Thursday the 6th of November
