It was the perfect night for a gardening task in Motherwell’s south facing garden this evening. They’ve started a community garden at the back of their building, and it was our job to give the area a general tidy up and plant some plants into the raised beds.
But before we got going with the task, we set off for a group walk through the nearby woods. For various reasons (one being that Maurice was still feeling a little bit numb after a filling just a couple of hours earlier!), the consensus was that we would walk instead of doing a run tonight. It was a lovely night and despite a cloudy day, the sun was now out in full force and made for a lovely evening to be out in the woods. Kat lives very close by, so was happy to lead us through the trails. Karen spotted a buzzard, Kat introduced us to some lovely wood carvings and a natural balance beam which proved to be good fun.... I think we all even got across it without falling off! Nobody seemed too enthusiastic when I suggested doing hill reps up the steps though!
Back at the task, we set to work on tidying up the garden and doing some planting. Karen oversaw planting as I think it’s fair to say she has the most knowledge in this department! The rest of us weeded, trimmed and gave the garden a general tidy up. It was looking much tidier and the beds were looking much fuller by the time we’d finished and we all felt pleased with our efforts!
It was lovely to spend the evening with you all as always. You never fail to brighten up my Wednesdays!
And safe and happy travels this weekend Karen, Nigel & Maurice for your Parkrun jolly!
Well done everyone!
Have a great week. Lots of love, Nicola xx
