28 GoodGymers made their way 6km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.

On a hot and sweaty Monday, Goodgym Tower Hamlets headed off to Stepney City Farm to help out with a variety of tasks they had waiting for us. We stopped off in the park on the way for some public humiliation warm-up exercises. After a leisurely 2.5k run down to the farm, Katherine who works there split us into groups to tackle some key urban farming activities – log-moving, weeding, pig mucking-out and composting. After 30 minutes, which included a heroic ten-person effort to move a bag of sand (it was a really big bag) and a quick escapee piglet grabbing, we ran off home along the canal. Along the canal we split off into small groups to up the pace and finishing, hot, sweaty, but happy just in time for Tom to leave everyone well stretched and ready for a deep sleep!
