No need to book in advance...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Thursday, 30th of July 2020
Back to Mr A's to do another collection of books for donation to his local charity shop - this time his carer let me in and it was up the now familiar steps into his hallway to pick up the three bags of books Mr A had identified for decluttering this week.
As I got near to the Oxfam on Kingsland Road, I couldn't help but take a quick look through some of the titles that Mr A was getting rid of and it's fair to say it was a fascinating and very eclectic mix...if I hadn't been standing in the middle of a busy pavement in Hackney, I'd have probably sat down with a coffee and started thumbing through a few in more detail.
Fortunately the shop was quiet so no need to socially distant queue outside today, and the assistant happily took the three bags off my hands, little knowing that I might be back before too long to satisfy my curiosity on a few of Mr A's paperbacks...
