16 brave GoodGymers ran 8.5k to Stamford Hill Wellbeing garden to weed, chop and clear.
Bit of a wet and wild evening in Hackney, welcomed the crew looking for a bit of adventure!
Welcoming 2 hardcore first time GoodGymers ** Nick and Frankie ** on their maiden outing.
Setting off on our longest run we do navigating our way to the North of Hackney at a steady pace enjoying a good social chat along the way. Reaching Stamford Hill ready to get stuck in after about 25 minutes of solid running.
Grabbing gloves, tools and the vital brown bins we squelched our way deep into the garden clogging up our trainers with thick mud.
Getting into a nice rhythm pulling out, digging up and cutting back all we could see to drive the weeds into submission!
30 strong and wet minutes of graft cleared the garden of pretty much every weed possible!!
After a big shoe clean effort we got going powering our way back to base through the puddles with a top effort under the belt on a night where most of us wouldn’t dare venture outside if we weren’t GoodGyming!!
Quiz master Jeffcoat was presiding, question of the day was
How many barrels of Gun powered was Guy Fawkes caught with?? The answer was 36 and winner was Rowena!!
Next week we are off to Abney Park Cemetery for another adventure, sign up and come along!!
A sad goodbye to GoodGym hall of famer Becky G who will be sorely missed as she rolls North on her new adventure.
Have a great week
Smooth Running
